Application Fields of Metal Pall Ring Packing

Metal Pall Ring Packing
The term "Pall ring" refers to a type of random packing that has been used for more than 50 years to increase the efficiency of towers. It has a long history of success and a global installed base. It is a radial open basket type of packing that resembles a tube but with windows in the side walls that improve the surface area of the product.
These rings are often found in distillation columns. The reflux vapour runs down the ring and the condensed or reboiler vapour goes up the ring. This means that less volatile materials will tend to go down, and more volatile materials will tend to rise.
Metal pall rings can also be used in biological reactors. They offer a low-channeling tendency and are resistant to plugging and fouling. They can be used to separate a variety of liquids and gaseous substances, including those that are acid, alkaline, salty or other chemically corrosive.
Compared with plastic pall ring, this metal pall ring has a higher mechanical strength and better mass transfer performance. They can be made of carbon steel or stainless steel, and have a wide range of sizes to accommodate different applications.
The composition of the metallic pall ring is similar to the ceramic ring, but they have a higher temperature resistance and better corrosion resistance to be used in harsh environments. It has two layers of windows on the cylinder wall and ligules that bend inside the ring axes.
They are mainly made of carbon steel and stainless steel. They are available in 1'', 1.5'', 2'' and 3'' diameters.
This type of ring is usually used in gas separation and absorption applications where the pressure drop is critical under a vacuum. They are ideal for absorption, aeration, degassing, desorption, distillation, stripping, and heat recovery.
It is made from a variety of materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium, and duplex specialty metals such as Monel. They are manufactured with a variety of coatings to meet the needs of the application.
Typically, the ring has a flat bottom that is slightly higher than the top. This increases its ability to absorb more gas and promotes the fluid-air exchange process that is required for efficient operation.
In addition, these rings are available in a variety of colors and thicknesses to meet the needs of each particular application. They are typically designed to be welded, but they can also be cut to shape with a ring cutter or other equipment.
These rings are manufactured to ISO 9001:2015 standards. They come with a global installed base and serve a wide variety of industries, including the oil and gas, power generation, pulp paper, chemical processing, and food and beverage industries.
The design of this type of ring is similar to the Raschig ring. However, this ring has a series of inward tabs that are effective at preventing entrainment and increasing the flow of the medium. It is ideal for use in highly demanding applications and has a strong reputation for reliable operation.

METAL PALL RING

PALL RINGS
Pall ring is the most widely used packing. Its unique internal structure makes full use of filler surface are to maximize the distribution of gas-liquid performance, and can be used in extremely corrosive working conditions.

MATERIALS AND OPTIONS

Pall Ring are available in a wide range of materials such as stainless steel 304, 304L, 316, 316L, carbon steel , aluminum,  bronze and other alloy etc.
